Weekend Mix

Gotta give a thumbs up to the weather guys in Dallas.  They got it right this weekend.  Saturday was a nice and moderate for January. Mid-50s and sunshine.  I got ALL my business and errands done :-) and sure enough Sunday morning around 5:30am I heard the predicted rain.  I snuggled back down and wondered if the predicted "winter-mix" would hit mid-morning -- IT DID!



Among other things today, I wrapped up in blankets and shelled the rest of the nuts I received at Christmas, bagged em and put them in the freezer.  My pecan shelling is not as pretty as what my Dad used to do.  He could pull out halves every time, not me, but pieces work fine baking and/or toasting...just a little trip down daddy memory lane....



The snow stopped for a little bit......



.....when it started snowing again,  only thing left for me to do was indulge in some sweet hot chocolate!!  I used ready made from an envelope, add a little creamer, whipped cream and this time sprinkled on a little cinnamon....mmmmm..mmmmmmmm.....mmmmmmmmm and no need to leave the house!



The snow stopped for good right before it started getting dark.  I grabbed a couple of final pictures and I'm glad that at least around me, nothing is icing.  Hope the roads remain clear for every one's sake.  However, the news guys are saying temps are dropping and icy roads are a concern, putting us under a Winter Weather Advisory until 9:00am tomorrow morning....never a dull moment....lol



I can still hear the silence the snow brought - ahhhhhhhhh - back to my blanket and book *grin*
