I ended up with peaches, blackberries, strawberries, peach salsa, fried pies (peach and apricot) and fudge.

Off we headed, southbound down I-35.

I really really enjoy snacking on plain popcorn that's pretty low key as far as "stuff" on it.  For long while, I've been using old fashioned popcorn kernels in the microwave in a bowl with a non-melting vented plastic like lid.  After a couple of years, the lid is starting to warp and unpopped kernels are flying out of the bowl and stuff.  That just won't work anymore....

Wednesday and Thursday was more ice and temperatures not getting above the mid-20s with the STATE of Texas mandating planned rolling blackouts because of heavy utilities use taxing the statewide grid..wow! Can't ever remember that happening.

Labor Day may mark the traditional end of summer, but the temps here are only into the 90s.  That means there are still plenty of summer activities around here left to do.  Attraction schedules have been modified to weekends since public schools and colleges started back a couple of weeks ago. But, there's still tons of fun under the hot Texas sun :D

Last year, both guys played soceer and both parents were able to co-ordinate the schedules without any problems.

Friday evening it was Nationwide night racing at Darlington and that is some fun racing even if it's a tier lower than the Cup guys!  So, grandma/mom and I watched the race at her house.
